The cable contains a central optical module with loosely laid fibres. The free space in the optical module is filled with hydrophobic gel. The central optical module is spirally overlaid with armour made of fibreglass bars. The free space between the bars is filled with hydrophobic gel. The armour is overlaid with a sheath made of a non-combustible, halogen-free polymer composition with low smoke emission.
