The hybrid TV-device for the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range uses a photocathode with a pulling electric field (TE photocathode) based on theInP/InGaAs heterostructure, which provides high sensitivity in the range of 0.951.65 µm. Advantages: a significant (several times) increase in range is possible due to the transition to the range of the spectrum up to 1.65 µm.
Possibility to observe objects at a given distance with different depth of observation (gated viewing mode). The use of this sensor with laser illumination will provide observation of the image with high resolution, as well as detection and identification of the object at a distance of up to 20 km.
This is 3-3.5 times more than the best mid-range and long-range viewing systems. Operation at a wavelength of 1.55 µm is safe for vision.
