Automated Hybrid Laser-Arc Welding System for Efficient Pipe Joint Connections

The machine for laser welding of rotary butt joints of pipes and pipe assemblies in horizontal position with the possibility to feed filler wire according to a pre-prepared programme. The application is expedient for large-scale assembly at installation and construction of oil and gas processing facilities. To implement the technological process of laser welding, the unit is equipped with ytterbium fibre laser with radiation power of 6 kW. The equipment is placed in 2 20-foot containers and is completed with chiller, compressor, ytterbium fibre laser, gantry-type coordinate unit with rotator, linear modules with motors, FLW series optical laser head, set of technological accessories, welding carriage consumables, weld tracking sensor, arc welding machine. Installed service life of the unit is not less than 3 years.
