Purpose: To provide treatment of LRW from radionuclides to levels allowing discharge of leachates into the environment and solidification of obtained concentrates to produce cement compounds allowing their safe storage/disposal.
LLW with the following parameters can be treated and concentrated at the MMSU:
-salt content, not more than, g/l 10;
-temperature, °C 10-30;
-volume activity, not more than, Bq/l 1-10^6.
Main characteristics of the basic MMSU:
-productivity on filtrate, m^3/hour 0,25-0,5;
-consumed electric power not more than, kW 8,0;
-modular design.
Basic MMSU consists of the following functional modules and blocks:
-module microfiltration MF ;
-module ultrafiltration MUF;
-Module reverse osmotic MOO;
-Module of ion exchange MIO;
-module for regeneration of ion exchange resins.
The unit can be equipped on customer's request with automated control modules, such as:
-Chemical Control Module (CCM)
