Chip Transport Half-Wagon Model 12-6995 for Efficient Transportation of Chips

Semi wagon model 12-6995 is designed for carriage of wood chips on mainline railways of 1520 mm gauge.

Increased body volume up to 211 m3 and increased load capacity allow to transport up to 70 tonnes of wood chips in each wagon, which is almost 15 tonnes more than in typical analogues. Such a difference in loading results in savings of up to 20 per cent on the required fleet. Increased overhaul mileage up to 1 million kilometres (or 8 years) significantly reduces the life cycle cost of the wagon, which is 40 years. The tariff effect of this model, combined with overhaul mileage, provides consumers with a significant reduction in the cost per tonne of freight transported.

When developing the 12-6995 model wagon, close attention was paid to the issues of its compatibility with the infrastructure available to consignors and consignees.
