The steerable front axle connects the front wheels and serves to transfer the load from the body to the wheels through elastic elements (springs), also transfers to the body vertical, horizontal and braking forces occurring in the contact patch of the tyre with the road. The front axle consists of an I-beam with spring mounting pads, two steering knuckles connected to the beam with kingpins, a transverse steering link connecting the steering knuckles with each other through the steering trapezoid arms, as well as a longitudinal steering link with a bipod.
On the trunnions of the steering knuckles are hubs, on which the wheels rotate on bearings. Brake discs are attached to the hubs.
To the steering knuckles are attached to the brakes with piston shoe release.
