The optical cable contains 1 optical fibre in a buffer coating of non-combustible polymer compound. Optical fibre in buffer coating and reinforcing high-modulus strands are located inside an individual sheath made of polyethylene or polymer compound not spreading combustion in single laying or polymer compound not spreading combustion in group laying or polymer compound not spreading combustion in group laying, with reduced smoke and gas emission, or polymer compound that does not spread combustion in group laying and does not emit corrosive gaseous products during combustion and smouldering, or of polymer compound that does not spread combustion in group laying with reduced smoke and gas emission and low toxicity of combustion products.
