These devices are intended for operative localisation of oil and oil products spilled on the water surface in order to prevent their further spreading, to bring them to oil collecting devices and to protect the coastline. They can be used in water areas of ports, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, backwaters and seas. Polytechnika booms are also used as ship fencing during fuel loading or unloading, during cargo operations of oil tankers, and as permanent localising fencing near industrial facilities (oil terminals, oil fields, underwater oil pipeline crossings, etc.).
