It is typically made of high quality stainless steel, titanium (Ti) or synthetic material and is usually used with a compatible sleeve (drill guide) to allow insertion of this set (e.g.
for positioning/drilling with tibial fixation screws) or it can be attached to a handle to facilitate manipulation (e.g. in axillary fracture repair).
