Zinc protectors are used as the main means for electrochemical protection against corrosion of the underwater part of the structures under construction and in operation in water with salt content not more than 0,5%, including in the presence of hydrogen sulphide, with sea bottom sediments, in watered areas, as well as auxiliary on the structures equipped with standard technical means of cathodic protection.
The working electrode potential of zinc protective alloys relative to the chlorosilver reference electrode should be minus 1.0 V with a deviation of ± 3%.
The actual current capacity of zinc protection alloys shall not be less than 780 A - hour/kg.
