Seamless DVB-ASI Backup Switch PN-CAS-326 for Ensuring Stream Reliability

The DVB-ASI (MPEG, T2-MI) seamless reserve switch PN-CAS-326 (hereinafter referred to as "reserve switch" or "reserve") is designed for redundancy of critical DVB-ASI TS (MPEG T2-MI) streams.

It has two automatic redundancy modes: seamless switching mode, standard switching mode. Switching modes is manual. Manual switching mode is also available.

Seamless switching is only possible if the primary and backup streams fulfil certain requirements: they must be identical, i.e. the source of the streams is the same, e.g. a multiplexer, and their delay with respect to each other does not exceed 8 PAT table periods. Theoretically, the mutual divergence of channels can reach 3.9 s. In this case the streams are analysed for critical errors from the list "ETS1 TR101290 Level1", their time alignment and seamless transition from the defective stream to the non-defective stream, with subsequent return to the main stream when it stops detecting....
